Another day another change
As another day went by another set of changes occured with the ballot counting. Kadima, Likud, and Meretz all got a seat. Israel Beiteynu, Shas, and the United Arab List all lost a seat. This has dramatically changed the horse-trading that will determine who is in the government and which parties will hold which porfolios.
In a bizarre turn of events Shas and Labor have been meeting about their shared social goals. Apparently shas, labor, and the pensioners are all very close on the social agenda. Shas suggested that they might ask moshe katsav to have Peretz form the government (and be prime minister). That same article suggests that israeli beiteynu is softening its position on unilateral withdrawl.
(whew) israeli politics is nuts. i'll try to keep up.

BZ pointed out over at jewschool.com that this has been denied by labor. when was the last time there was a rumor even half this interesting in american politics?
When Kerry was going to pick McCain as his running mate.
Or when Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.
