Good News from CT

A few months ago I made a contribution to Ned Lamont's primary campaign against Senator Joe Liberman. I was upset with Lieberman's constant support for the iraqi excurssion and the ways in which he threw dems under the bus to ingratiate himself to Bush. At a time when the US needed an opposition party, Lieberman scuttled debate and undermined progressives. He failed to fight radical right-wing judges as hard as he could and he failed to be a progressive voice. He did some good things, but he is representing a very blue state, and i expected more. i was impressed with lamont, as where many people smarter than i.

so what happened?

In the State Democratic convention to decide who would run in the primaries, each candidate needed to get at least 15% of delegates to qualify. Lamont got a very high 33% and will be a serious player in this primary. He appears to have strong momentum and room to grow as more people become framiliar with him. We'll see what happens. For now, at least Liberman is being held accountable and there is public discussion about his war stance in his homestate.

Good for Lamont (and good for you for supporting him)! Lieberman is exactly the kind of Democrat we don't need these days.

ZT, I'm a huge Lamont supporter and blogger, and I had the incredible experience of covering the Democratic convention as part of the media.

Ned Lamont is not only an alternate choice for anti-Lieberman voters, but he's an honest and sincere person with common-sense approaches to many of the problems facing the country. Plus, he won't take a penny of lobbyist's money. He's a very successful businessman, and he can't be bought. Compare that to the Abramoff-stained legislators in Congress.

My blog, http://ctbob.blogspot.com "Connecticut Bob", has photos and video clips from the convention and many Lamont speeches. I urge your readers to see the man speak and think about sending a donation to his campaign. We're battling a huge machine in the Lieberman regime, and they can use all the help they can get.

Ned is a winner, and we're putting together possibly the most significant upset in recent history. Won't it be great to see one of our own actually WIN for a change?

Regards,
Bob Adams
