Look who's an executive now
Just days after claiming that the VP's office was not part of the Executive Branch of our government Cheney has agreed that it is. He had hoped to avoid oversight coming from Rep. Waxman.
The Iraq ongoing slaughter should be enough to indicate this man is exceedingly stubborn.
What changed his mind?
Apparently this did:
"The decision follows a threat by Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), the No. 3 House Democrat, to try to cut off the office’s $4.8 million in executive-branch funding." Emanuel had scheduled a vote on Cheney’s funding for Thursday.
Go Rahm! It's like poker, play chill, apply pressure, and wait for the opponent to make a mistake. When he does, amp it up and make him fold his cards losing the money he staked with his/her bluff. It's like Waxman raised $5, hoping to knock the others out of the pot Cheney raised $20 with his pair of 8s. Only problem was that Rahm had Ks. Cheney folded. That is a two word sentence i hope to be writing increasingly over the next two years. Then i'll get to say, "broke, Cheney went home and never played another hand."
1 Comments:
Jon Stewart's reporter (the guy with the British accent) was there on the scene. He explained how Dick Cheney's office is neither part of the executive nor legislative branch, but a little bit of both.
Not verbatim:
"It makes sense, Jon. Just as Cheney's neither man nor beast, but a little of both."
